“Drogeria Roku” (Drugstore of the Year) is a unique project conducted by the editorial team of Wiadomości Kosmetyczne (Cosmetic News) since 2009. It aims to identify the best places for cosmetics sales.
Previously, the ranking was determined by a jury composed of managers from leading cosmetic companies. However, starting in 2023, the ranking is based on consumer ratings. The research for the Drogeria Roku 2023 (Drugstore of the Year 2023) was carried out by the research institute Mobile Institute on behalf of Wiadomości Kosmetyczne, using a panel of internet users. Responses and evaluations were collected from 1000 panelists. Participants qualified for the study if they made beauty-related purchases, which includes a variety of cosmetic products.
Respondents were asked to indicate the places where they make purchases and evaluate them based on various aspects, including product assortment, prices, promotions, service quality, aesthetics of product presentation, and alignment with sustainable development principles.
Consumers rated each aspect on a scale from 1 to 5 in the following categories:
- Drugstore and perfumery chains
- Online drugstores (e-drogerie)
- Pharmacy chains
- Online pharmacies (e-apteki)
- Grocery retail chains
For both physical and online drugstores and perfumeries, 14 evaluated aspects were prepared. Pharmacies were assessed in 3 areas, online pharmacies in 4, and non-cosmetic stores in 3. The highest average rating in a specific area determined the winner. Additionally, the highest average votes across all areas were the basis for awarding the Grand Prix in each sales channel.

The Drugstore of the Year ranking was conducted by Mobile Institute for Wiadomości Kosmetyczne (Cosmetic News) in August 2023 as part of the study titled “Distribution Channels for Cosmetics in Poland 2023.”
